Middle

Middle is created for Zamen, a monthly publication of words, images, and sounds. The works in each issue are commissioned by 8-10 artists per a changing theme, composed into a .zip file. Transmittable, downloadable, accessible. Zamen is an attempt at bridging and a connecting between different humans around the globe.

I created this series of visuals to illustrate the language barriers and miscommunications exists between communities in two different social dynamics. Collaborations forms when two or more communities have equal needs to communicate, creating tools such as pidgin. Whereas Assimilation happens In situations where one party is surrounded by the another larger party. One has significantly severe needs to communicate and connect.
